The color rendering quality of a lamp is indicated by the color rendering index Ra. The best value with the most natural color rendering is 100 Ra as reflected by sunlight. High-quality LED lamps achieve values ​​of 90 Ra and higher. This ensures that colors are reproduced as realistically as possible.

Our sunlight does not flicker. That's why we humans and other living beings have not developed any measures to compensate for flickering light in the course of evolution. An LED must be operated with direct voltage and would not flicker if the voltage was completely smooth. Our power grid is operated with alternating voltage and therefore corresponding rectification takes place in the lamp. An electrolytic capacitor is required for flicker-free operation. This often represents a challenge due to its size and price. Furthermore, there is no prescribed level of light flicker for labeling products. When purchasing the product, it is impossible for the end user to tell whether the light is flickering or not when it is switched off. That's why it's important to us to keep the flicker rate as low as is technically possible.
